You will know that NACO runs a biennial award scheme to recognise good practice in civic office, but here is an opportunity for you to nominate your civic head for an award, run by LGiU.
Sophie Willett at LGiU has asked us to share details of the 2023 Councillor Awards and asks 'do you know a local councillor whose work deserves to be recognised nationally?'
The deadline for nominations in all of the five categories is Friday 22 September so start thinking now about:
Community Champion
Leader of the Year
Young Councillor of the Year
Resilience Champion
Lifetime Legend
Nominations can be made by anyone - councillors, council officers or members of the public and the process is quick and simple.
