SECOND VIRTUAL ANNUAL TRAINING EVENT AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF NACO

Wednesday 9 March 2022 10.00 am until 1.30 pm

Book Online

We are delighted to invite NACO members and colleagues to be part of our second Webinar on Wednesday 9 March 2022 from 10.00 am.

We had hoped to be able to return to an in-person event in 2022, but recognising that there are still concerns about indoor gatherings, have decided that the time is not yet right. However, the positive feedback we had from the first Webinar, held in March 2021, encouraged us to use the same format for the 2022 Training Event.

The focus will be on three key areas of interest to those working in Civic Office:

Marking a Death

 – always an interesting session, taking a look at the plans in place and tweaks that can be made in the light of lessons learnt.

The Building of a Civic Year

 – the days of waiting for invitations to arrive and accepting anything and everything are long gone. Civic officers are now encouraging their civic heads to be more pro-active as they create their diary and build the year – looking for covid recovery initiatives, using the NACO significant dates list, flag flying days, and engaging with the corporate plan and local events.

Civic Life in the Digital Age

 - Covid changed the way we all work and things may never return to how they were. How can civic office thrive as we work from home, use an e-diary and exploit the possibilities of social media? – our presenters will use examples of success despite lockdown, pointing the way forward.

The event will also feature the Annual General Meeting and the launch of our re-designed website, a project undertaken in response to comments made in the member-wide survey earlier this year. We are confident you will approve of the changes, which will be demonstrated by our web specialist, James Cocker of Purple Spider.

We know that many members attach great importance to networking with colleagues, to share ideas and discuss problems. Traditional networking will not be possible, but there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers and a platform for making contact with officers you have not previously met.

The cost for one delegate to attend this Webinar is £50. NACO is always conscious of its members’ budgets so there is no increase from last year. If more than one delegate attends, from any one authority, then the fee is reduced to £40 per delegate.

The formal Notice of the AGM, the Agenda and a nomination form for the Executive Committee are on-line.  If you wish to be nominated for the Executive, please note that this year all nominations must be received no later than 1800 hours on Tuesday 8 March 2022.

Many of you will already have this date in your diary. The booking form is now available on the NACO website, so please do make sure you register your attendance as soon as possible.
