On 1 April 2023, the Cabinet Office announced a new scheme to allow local authorities to apply for a free, framed portrait of His Majesty The King to celebrate the new reign. On 15 January, the Cabinet Office released the official portrait. The closing date for applications was to be 2 February but has now been extended to 28 March 2024.
