Below is information NACO has been asked to pass to its members by the Women in Local Government Association - relating to an event taking place in Leeds on Saturday 24 November 2018
Attendance now open to all!
After a two year programme of activity, our national project 'Suffrage Pioneers', will culminate in a celebration that will take place on Saturday 24 November in the Banqueting Hall, Leeds Civic Hall, Leeds LS1 1UR.
Participants, from 100 projects across the UK, will gather from 12 noon, to meet with each other and find out about the successful nominees and the local projects that have been taking place, to commemorate the pioneers and inspire a new generation of activists.
A light lunch will be served and projects will create an exhibition of the 100 suffrage pioneers.
From 2 pm until 4 pm, there will be a national celebration - including speeches, readings, music, a special display by Suffrajitsu and a roll call of the 100 pioneers.
We are inviting representatives from all the projects and encourage them to include a young person, who has been inspired by the suffrage pioneer, to get more involved eg as a first time voter, candidate or volunteer.
To book your place please email: email@example.com
Hoping to see you in Leeds to celebrate those who campaigned for women’s suffrage and went on to a life of public service.
