Portrait of the Queen and Prince Philip

Can you help? In our council chamber we have a framed photo of the Queen and also a framed photo of the Queen and Prince Philip. Are we allowed to keep the one with the both of them up or is there some protocol that says it should be taken down?

Hi Jim's message to me was
I think it is important not to give the impression of air-brushing out The Duke. He and The Queen have been side by side for so many years and if a portrait shows the two of them together, it is fine to keep it on display, even for the rest of The Queen’s reign. For the next week or two you can put a black ribbon across the top corner of the frame on his side of the picture to acknowledge his passing. Even where there are separate portraits, I would suggest keeping them both in place as a reminder of the service he has given to this country and to The Queen.
If you were doing a major refurbishment in a few years’ time and the portraits came down temporarily, you would want to think at that time if it was right to rehang them both, but if they have been there for years and are likely to continue to hang there for the foreseeable future then my view is that you are fine to keep them in place.
I hope that helps?
