Mayor and Chaplain

Hi - does anyone please know if a Mayor can have a Chaplain from another Parish (his hometown) and have his Sunday service there rather than in the town where he is Mayor?
Sorry if this sounds confusing.

There is no legal restriction on the choice of Chaplain as it is not a post known in law. However, the point of a Chaplain is to support the Mayor in his/her work in their own area so I would find it very strange to have the Mayor's Sunday service in anywhere other than the town in which they serve. The mayor is the mayor of a particular place - not his hometown.

The Mayor's hometown is 2 miles from the town in which he would serve. Thank you for your advice Paul - this is very much appreciated.
