Town Council Mayor - Badge Permission

Town Council Mayor - Badge Permission Link to this post

Am hoping for clarification ....
When attending engagements outside of their jurisdiction, should a Town Mayor seek permission to wear Mayoral badge from the Parish Council Chairman where the engagement is being held or from the Mayor of the Borough or indeed both?
Badge on Ribbon only when outside Town area?

Appreciate advice as can't find guidance.
Many thanks.

Hi Sharon,
Locally, we have an understanding with our neighbouring towns that our Mayor can wear her chain when attending an engagement in their towns. If outside of our immediate area then it is courteous to obtain permission. Hope that helps.

Hi Sharon,
When working at Henley TC always sort the permission of the Parish or Town visiting unless it was a borough or county event. Town council then District Council and if larger event would be a county request. If none was obtained would wear badge on ribbon. Although found many Parish's hard to contact and very rarely did anyone refuse as they liked the chain to attend.
